What is the Challenge?

The event is a social but challenging ride through the northern countryside of Tasmania on Sunday 28 March 2010 to raise money for the New Horizons Club Inc, which provides sporting and recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and Youngtown Rotary projects; Shelter Box and the Asthma Foundation.

What does it involve?

All rides start from Prospect Park Sports Ground, Harley Parade Prospect and pass through slow country roads with a distance to suit you:

  • 160 kilometres to Deloraine, Chudleigh and return.
  • 100 kilometres to Deloraine and return.
  • 76 kilometres to Westbury and return.
  • 52 kilometres towards Hagley and then returning via the old Bass Highway.
  • 24 kilometres to Carrick and return.
  • Team corporate challenge where the winning team is the one that completes the most kilometres in aggregate.

Who does this benefit?

All moneys raised go to the New Horizons Club and the Rotary Clubs of Youngtown, Westbury and Deloraine.

Entries

Entry fees are $35 per person for all courses, with fees for juniors 13-16 years being $10 and family entries $70.

Pre-entries close Thursday, 25 March 2010 and participants entering prior to this date will be provided with a free light lunch on the day. There are no late entry fees, but due to catering requirements late entrants will not be provided with a free light lunch.

Entry prerequisites

Riders must be a minimum of 13 years of age to enter.

Junior riders 13 to 16 years of age must have their entry witnessed by a guardian.
